Suspect identified in report of shots fired in mid-June
A suspect has been identified in connection with a report earlier this month of shots fired in a south Madison neighborhood, police said.
Madison police said Wednesday that 22-year-old Shaqkeem I. Buchanan, of Chicago, told investigators he fired a gun on the 2900 block of Coho Street on June 17.
Police said Buchanan has been ordered into court on a tentative charge of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Witnesses told police they saw a disturbance at about 3 p.m. between a group of individuals who looked like they knew each other, according to an incident report.
Police said officers found evidence that a gun had been fired and there were no reports of property damage or injured people.
Buchanan was not booked into Dane County Jail yet Wednesday afternoon.
