Sun Prairie to change name to ‘Fun Prairie’ for entire month of July
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — For one month only, the City of Sun Prairie is changing its name to… “Fun Prairie.”
The name change is part of a month-long marketing campaign to showcase the recreation activates Sun Prairie has to offer. The campaign coincides with Parks and Recreation Month, which takes place in July.
“We want to embrace the fun community that Sun Prairie is and highlight all of the different city departments, community organizations, and local businesses that contribute to that,” Sun Prairie Mayor Paul Esser said.
Esser plans to issue a proclamation Tuesday at 7 p.m. changing the city’s name for the duration of July. The proclamation will be live streamed on the city’s website.
Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry is teaming up with local organizations and businesses to promote a number of attractions, promotions and activities within the city. To celebrate the month, SPPRF is coordinating a digital map with information about all of the events. There will also be a month-long game of BINGO featuring a number of activities hosted throughout July.
Local businesses are invited to partner with SPPRF by signing up to host an event, sponsoring prizes for BINGO winners, or signing on as an advertising partner.
More information about the month-long campaign will be available on SPPRF’s website starting the week of June 27.
