Sun Prairie reaches softball championship game

Undefeated Cardinals will play for title Saturday

The Sun Prairie Cardinals will play for the WIAA State Division One softball championship after the Cardinals defeated Menomonee Falls 9-5 in the semifinals at Madison College Friday night.

Because of weather delays in the morning, the Division One semifinals were moved from Goodman Diamond to Madison College.

Skylar Muller broke open the game with a bases clearing triple in the top of the ninth inning as Sun Prairie scored four runs to secure the win.

Sun Prairie (28-0) will play in the Division One Championship game Saturday night at 6:30 at Goodman Diamond.

Poynette earned a spot in the Division Three state championship game with a 4-3 win over Westfield in 11 innings.

Whitnall 2, Portage 1

Mosinee 8, Denmark 7

DIvision Three semifinals:

Poynette 4, Westfield 3 (11)

Tomahawk 2, Prescott 1 (8)

Division Four semifinals:

Horicon 10, Pacelli 0 (5) – Allison Tillema threw a no-hitter for Horicon

Thorp 5, Weyauwega-Fremont 4 (Thursday night)
