Sun Prairie football to honor first responders
Team will wear commemorative uniforms vs. Beloit
SUN PRAIRIE — The Sun Prairie Cardinals football team will honor first responders it its home opener against Beloit Memorial at Ashley Field Friday night.
The Sun Prairie community was shaken by a downtown explosion July 10th that took the life of firefighter Cory Barr.
Special game uniforms will be worn and auctioned on line to raise money for families affected by the explosion.
“It’s a way to show our love for the community, how strong we are for the community and what we believe in,” linebacker Jacob Powley said. “Sun Prairie football is about the community here, it’s always what it’s been about. It gives me chills just thinking about it, just taking the field for first responders.”
