Skylar Muller drove in five runs as the Sun Prairie Cardinals defeated Appleton North 8-4 in a WIAA State Softball Division One quarterfinal at Goodman Diamond Thursday morning.

Appleton North scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead, but Sun Prairie tied the game in the sixth and won it with four runs of their own in the seventh.

The Cardinals loaded the bases and Muller cleared them with a double to right center field to make it 7-4 Sun Prairie.

The Cardinals added another run on an RBI single by Erin Vertz.

Maddie Gardner pitched seven innings, allowing five hits, five walks and four runs to get the win for Sun Prairie (27-0).

The Cardinals will face Menomonee Falls in the Division One semifinals Friday evening at 7 pm.
