Summit contributes to creating state where every child thrives
A couple of weeks ago collaboration by several schools and colleges at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, UW System and UW Extension focused on helping every child thrive.
More than 300 people attended the first statewide Prenatal-to-Five Summit, Elevating the Early Years through Access and Equity hosted by the Center for Child and Family Well-being in the School of Human Ecology.
First of all, the outreach was terrific with attendees from 71 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, seven tribal nations and more than 100 agencies. And second, the focus of the summit was well thought out and executed with an emphasis on listening to the needs of families.
But also important to us was the impact of UW resources collectively aligned around this critically important issue. Bringing The Wisconsin Idea to bear on prenatal-to-five is a major contribution to creating a state where every child thrives.
