Summerfest to require proof of COVID-19 vaccinations, negative tests upon entry

Summerfest announces full headliner lineup

MILWAUKEE — Summerfest is the latest live event to announce vaccination or negative COVID-19 test requirements in response to a recent surge in cases state- and-nationwide.

All attendees will need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result with 72 hours of entering the grounds. Kids under the age of 12, who are currently ineligible for vaccination, will also be required to wear a mask.

The entrance protocols apply to normally scheduled shows and the Wednesday Weekend Preview held at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

The music festival also announced a number of other COVID-related safety protocols for this year’s festivities including cashless transactions, increased cleaning crews for high-traffic areas, overnight deep-cleaning efforts, and increased hand sanitizer stations throughout the grounds.

Summerfest is scheduled to run for three consecutive weekends in September: Sept. 2-4, 9-11, and 16-18.
