Students held in school while police investigate gun incident
Police take subject into custody
MADISON, Wis. — Students at Lincoln Elementary School in Madison were held from their early release on the first day of school Tuesday while police investigated a gun incident in the neighborhood.
Madison police said they were called to the 2200 block of Cypress Way at 10:30 a.m. on a report of a subject who had pulled a gun on another person.
Police asked the school to hold some students who were scheduled for early release while police searched the area.
A subject was located at 11:15 and was eventually taken into custody. Police said a BB gun was located and is believed to be the weapon used in the incident.
The school continued normal operation at noon.
Police were interviewing the subject Tuesday afternoon.
