Students flee studies over rumors of Steve Carell touring UW campus
Rumors remain unconfirmed, speculation

MADISON, Wis. — Students fled from midterm studies and classes Monday after rumors spread on social media that the beloved movie and television star Steve Carell was on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
Rumor had it that the Carell — widely known for his comedic role as Michael Scott in “The Office” as well as in movies including “Anchor Man,” “Despicable Me,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Little Miss Sunshine” and more — was on campus to tour the college with one of his children. This all remains rumor.
Initial “sightings” of the star were blurry. He was believed to be sporting sunglasses and a baseball cap.
