Student struck, robbed on pedestrian bridge
Student was photographing nighttime traffic
MADISON, Wis. — A Madison Media Institute student was mugged while trying to take photos of traffic on the Beltline Highway from a pedestrian bridge Sunday, according to police.
The 19-year-old student told police he was trying to take nighttime traffic photographs for a class project around 8:30 p.m. when he was knocked over from being struck on the left side of the head.
The student reported seeing two robbers heading toward Pheasant Ridge Trail with camera equipment worth nearly $1,000.
The robbers are described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 5-feet 11-inches tall and about 200 pounds. One was wearing a black hoodie and another was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a lighter hood.
