Student reportedly called name, kicked, punched
UW-Whitewater says attackers used sexually derogatory term before attack
WHITEWATER, Wis. — A student was reportedly called a name, then punched and kicked near campus Friday night, according to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
The university said the student told campus police he was on the 900 block of West Main Street near the intersection of Main and Prince streets when he saw a group of four white men leaving a Greek organization’s house.
One of the men called the student a sexually derogatory term, according to the report. The student responded saying there was no need for use of that language and one of the men punched the student in the face.
The student fell to the ground and was injured after he was kicked and punched while he was down.
Campus and city police are investigating, the university said.
Anyone with information in connection with the incident is asked to call campus police at 262-472-4660.
