MADISON, Wis. — Streets Division crews are asking residents to chose off-street parking so they can plow and sand residential streets more effectively on Monday and Tuesday.

According to a news release, crews will work on plowing residential roads throughout the city from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Officials are asking residents to avoid leaving anything on the curb in order to make plowing more effective. City officials said that cars and other items left on the curb can cause snow plows to slow down and miss areas of the street.

Sunday night, Streets Division crews plowed and salted major thoroughfares as needed.

Streets Division crews plan to continue treating roads on the salt route. Officials are also reminding residents to drive with caution as some of the roads, especially residential ones, may still be slippery.
