Streets Dept.: Roads in “good winter driving conditions”
Thirty crews have been plowing, salting all night
MADISON, Wis. — Commuters should find “good winter driving conditions” on Madison roads when they drive into work Tuesday morning, according to the head of the city’s street department.
Streets Superintendent Chris Kelley said 30 streets crews have been plowing and salting the city’s main streets all night.
Two trucks have also been doing limited sanding on residential streets, but he warns that residential streets will be snow covered. Kelley is warning drivers to use extra caution, especially on intersections and hills.
Kelley said when staff reports in at 7 a.m., additional trucks will be dispatched to apply more sand on hills, curves and intersections and residential streets.
