Stranger followed boy around Iowa County playground, officials say
RIDGEWAY, Wis. — Officials are investigating a report of a suspicious man who approached a boy outside a school in Iowa County Thursday, according to a report.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy responded to a report of a suspicious older man at 8:44 a.m. in the village of Ridgeway.
According to the report, the man, possibly in his 60s, approached a child playing on the playground at the elementary school and asked him to help find his dog. The man wouldn’t leave the child alone and followed him around until the child ran home.
The sheriff’s office said the man was described as white, with gray hair and was wearing a green suit and rubber farm boots.
The vehicle was seen in the Ridgeway area in the morning and was described by others as an early 2000-model blue van with damage to its front-end and passenger side.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office or the Ridgeway Police Department.
