Stoughton tops MG boys, 49-41
Vikings, Silver Eagles tied for first in Badger South
STOUGHTON — Nick McGlynn scored 13 points and Will Clark added 10 as the Stoughton Vikings boys basketball team defeated Monona Grove in Stoughton, 49-41 Tuesday night.
The Silver Eagles jumped out to a 10-4 lead after the first quarter, but Stoughton outscored MG 17-5 in the second quarter to take a six point lead at halftime, 21-15.
Stoughton opened the lead to ten in the second half as McGlynn hit a three-point shot and River Hoaglin scored five straight points, including a three point shot from the corner to help seal the decision.
Mark Nelson, Jr. led the Silver Eagles with 16 points. Zach Stinson added 12.
Freshman guard Troy Slaby was also in double figures for Stoughton with 10 points.
Both Stoughton and Monona Grove are now tied for first place in the Badger South with 8-2 records.
