Stoughton police identify suspect in road rage shooting; no one injured

STOUGHTON, Wis. — Stoughton police have identified a suspect tied to a Thursday morning shooting that stemmed from a road rage incident.

Police were alerted to a report of shots fired shortly after 8:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue. When they responded, officers discovered a road rage incident happened in the 1900 block of the same street prior to shots being fired.

The suspect reportedly fired three rounds from a handgun toward another person’s vehicle before driving off. The victim was not hit, and no one was injured in the shooting.

Further investigation revealed two homes in the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue were struck by the three rounds the suspect fired.

Police said they recovered the handgun used in the shooting. Officers have identified the suspect, but they have not been arrested as of early Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said their investigation is ongoing.
