Stoughton clinches share of Badger South Conference championship
Stoughton boys basketball made history Tuesday night at Monona Grove High School. They defeated the Silver Eagles 42-32 and clinched a share of the Badger South Conference championship for the fourth year in a row.
It’s the first time the Vikings have ever won at least a share of the conference championship four straight years.
Monona Grove actually got off to a good start as Peyton Mueller’s first quarter three gave the Silver Eagles a 7-2 lead. From there, it was all Vikings.
In the second quarter, Nick McGlynn made acrobatic shot in the paint to give the Vikings an 11-7 lead.
In the 3rd quarter, Stoughton pulled away. Brady Brusegar hit a three to push the Vikings lead to 15 as Stoughton’s 1-3-1 zone defense held Monona Grove to just 32 points.
McGlynn led the Vikings with 19 points.
