Storms expected Monday afternoon
Large hail, damaging winds possible
MADISON, Wis. — Severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon in southern Wisconsin.
News 3 meteorologist Haddie McLean said clouds will increase Monday afternoon with a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing. Some of the storms could become strong or severe. The Storm Prediction Center has much of southern Wisconsin in an enhanced risk area for severe storms. The greatest likelihood for severe weather will take place late in the afternoon and into Monday night.
As a warm front pushes to the north and humidity starts to increase Monday night, showers and thunderstorms will be numerous.
The main threat from the severe weather is large hail and damaging winds.
Showers will come to an end by early Tuesday morning.
