Stolen wallets found hidden in downtown flower planter, police say
MADISON, Wis. — Three stolen wallets were found in a flower planter in downtown Madison early Sunday morning, police said.
A member of the Guardian Angels saw a man acting suspicious around 2 a.m. in the 400 block of West Gilman Street, according to a release. The witness checked a planter in the area and found three women’s wallets hidden inside.
None of the wallets had money or credit cards in them, but two had identification inside, police said. The owners, two women in their 20s, were contacted and they said they had been out socializing in the State Street area that night but neither of them realized their wallets had been taken from their purses.
