Steven A. Alderson
ST. LOUIS, MO/ JANESVILLE— Steven A. Alderson, age 64, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Janesville, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at his home. He was born in Beloit on July 24, 1948, the son of Leonard and Ruth (Goodell) Alderson. Steve graduated from Janesville High School and attended UW Whitewater before graduating from UW Stout with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He worked at the Marriott Hotel in Milwaukee and Chicago and later for the Ramada Inn in Greenville, SC, and St. Louis. He then graduated from the St. Louis School of Cosmetology and became a hair stylist.
He is survived by his partner, Bruce Owens of St. Louis; parents, Leonard and Ruth Alderson of Janesville; sister, Sandy (Jim) Bishop of Janesville; nephew, Darin (Angie) Bishop; great nephews, Dylan and Jordan Bishop; as well as a great niece, Brittany all of California; aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Brian Bishop.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Janesville, with Rev. Paul Speerbrecker officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY. Memorials may be made to the AIDS Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
