Stella Ann Severson
Stella Ann Severson, age 100, of Cudahy, Wis., passed away on March 14, 2021, at Girlie’s Manor, Mount Horeb, Wis.
She was born on July 3, 1920, in Blue Island, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Julia Dyrcz. She married Wallace John Severson on May 16, 1942, in Cudahy.
Stella was primarily a homemaker and a florist by trade. She spent most of her life in Cudahy. When she was 80 years old, she moved to Verona, Wis., where she lived independently in her own apartment. When Stella was 99 years old, she moved to assisted living at Girlie’s Manor in Mount Horeb. There, she celebrated her 100th birthday through a window since the pandemic had started. Stella was blessed with good health for most of her life and was still walking unassisted on her 100th birthday.
Stella is survived by son, Wallace John (Darlene) Severson Jr.; daughter, Cynthia (John) Olmsted Rice; five grandsons, James (Amy) Olmsted, Andrew (Heather) Severson, Jonathan (Melissa) Olmsted, Matthew (Diana) Olmsted, and Eric (Claudia) Severson; and four great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters, Cole, Annabelle and Charlie Olmsted, Anaya, Noah and Estella Olmsted, Autumn and Zander Olmsted, and Adeline and Signe Severson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; her parents, Frank and Julia; and her three siblings, Edward Dertz, Sophie Reynolds, and Frank Dertz.
A private funeral service for family members will commence at a future date at Wood National Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband, Wallace.
Memorial donations may be made to Girlie’s Manor, 104 Lincoln Court, Mount Horeb, WI 53572 where she received loving care throughout her stay and especially through the pandemic. Or to Agrace Foundation, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711, which provided end of life care.
