Operations Technician - WISC-TV is actively searching for a full-time Operations Technician.  The duties of this position include pre-show editing, studio preparation and in-studio camera operation.  Depending on skills, abilities, and interests, duties may expand to include master control operations, directing, and possible news photography.  The work schedule is typically morning-show hours and will include weekend mornings as well.

Qualifications include PC computer literacy; effective verbal communication skills; ability to work non-traditional hours, ability to concentrate on a wide range of simultaneously occurring tasks, effectively handle fast-paced live news situations, occasionally move large set pieces, and climb ladders.  Candidates with previous directing, master control, and editing experience will be given high consideration.  Bachelors degree in Communications or related field is helpful

Motion Graphic Artist - Morgan Murphy Media is actively seeking an innovative Motion Graphic Artist to be the creative force behind the design, development, and execution of our television news graphics package across all six of our television markets.

Working closely with our VP of News and the company’s marketing and news leaders, this critical role will help create, maintain, and enhance the overall graphic look of our local newscasts and the promotional efforts for those newscasts.  This includes graphic design elements, show opens, talent branding, image promotions, as well as breaking news events and custom news graphics for signature storytelling.  The successful candidate will be able to present ideas that will enhance our local brands and take those ideas from conception to completion.

To be considered, candidates must have experience in a news and marketing environment, possess a degree in journalism, marketing, graphic design, or other related field, and be able to demonstrate exceptional motion graphic design work.  Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a must.

This position may be based out of any of our six television markets, which are:

Madison and La Crosse, WI
Spokane and Kennewick, WA
Joplin, MO
Victoria, TX

News Producer - WISC-TV is actively searching for a News Producer to lead our hour-long Live at 4:00 newscast.  Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated in producing a non-traditional afternoon news program and will have creative skills to produce entertaining and engaging lifestyle and current event segments.  In addition to assembling a traditional news segment, you will also set up daily guest segments and scheduled feature packages with our two anchors.

We need a leader who can take responsibility for the overall direction of this unique program and will also be incredibly flexible to change the program as news events warrant.

Our ideal candidate is a creative thinker with excellent news judgement who can deliver relevant and interesting stories every day. You need to be able to write clearly for multiple platforms, including our website. Social media proficiency is required. 

We prefer applicants with at least two years of producing experience and a college degree.  A writing test is required

WKBT News 8 is hiring part-time Floor Crew Members for our Morning (4:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.) and Noon (11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.) newscasts. We will train the right applicants to run teleprompter, studio cameras, and generate on-air graphics. Hours per week range from 20-30. This a great entry-level opportunity for someone who is looking to start their career in broadcasting or is willing to learn multiple skills required to work behind the scenes in a fast-paced environment.
