Missing 13-year-old Dodgeville boy found safe
DODGEVILLE, Wis. — The 13-year-old Dodgeville boy who went missing early Thursday morning has been found safe.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office posted the update Thursday night.
Dodgeville: Missing Child has been found and is safe. Dodgeville PD thanks all who assisted in finding him.
An Endangered Missing Person Alert had been issued for Emery Foust after Dodgeville police were told he ran away from home at about 1:30 a.m.
He had been spotted walking alone near the intersection of North Main Street and West Spring Street.
The sheriff’s office said a drone and K-9 teams were used to search throughout Dodgeville. Residents were also asked to check buildings, yards and vehicles for Foust.
A news release said the boy was found safe in a home within the city at about 8:30 p.m. He had been missing for roughly 19 hours.
Officials said the circumstances leading up to the incident are being investigated.
Dodgeville police received help from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Dodgeville EMS, Dodgeville Fire Department, Iowa County Emergency Management, the Wisconsin Department of Justice and FBI.
