State’s most eligible batches make perfect pair

They’re three of Wisconsin’s most eligible batches–craft beer, cheese and chocolate. So it should come as no surprise that these three are always being set up with other dishes (and even each other) to showcase their flavors. We’re not short on pairing events in Madison that heighten the experience of some of our favorite foods and drinks, from wine and dinner pairings (Eno Vino Wine Bar and Bistro has this down pat with pairing at 6 p.m. every Wednesday) to tours dedicated to the art (like the Madison Eats Brew and Chew pairing tour). But the mothership of area pairings has to be the Craft Beer, Cheese and Chocolate Pairing event put on by the Monona East Side Business Alliance, which will be held September 29 this year. at the East Side Club of Madison. Consider it speed dating for Wisconsin’s most important food groups. Of the twelve match stations at last year’s sold-out event, here’s one of the matches made in heaven: Bos Meadery’s Hammersmashed cherry mead, Carr Valley Cheese’s black sheep truffle cheese and Chocolaterian’s dark Costa Rican chocolate.
