State Street shop to close after 7 years
Serrv specializes in fair trade and handmade items.
After seven years in downtown Madison, Serrv International is closing its Madison location, according to a newsletter.
Serrv International was founded in 1949 as a nonprofit in Madison. While it ships around the world through online shopping, Serrv in Madison was the only storefront. It also wholesales to other stores across the country.
Starting Friday, Serrv is hoping to clear the shelves with at least 40% off all inventory when shopping in-store. The discount is not applicable online.
Serrv works with more than 8,000 artisans and farmers in 24 countries adhering to the 10 standards of fair trade defined by the World Fair Trade Organization.
Serrv is still based in Madison and will continue providing online shopping.
