State issuing warnings about personal fireworks
83 Wis. residents in ER from personal fireworks injuries in 2011
MADISON, Wis. — In Wisconsin, any fireworks that leave the ground or explode are illegal unless the person igniting them has a permit, according to state officials.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is issuing warning about fireworks.
Most injuries happen to kids under the age of 15.
Fifteen Wisconsin residents were hospitalized last year and 83 people ended up in the emergency room because of personal fireworks.
