Star Wars toy exhibit opens in Janesville
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A new Star Wars exhibit is now open at the Rock County Historical Society in Janesville.
Jarrod Roll, a Star Wars enthusiast and collector, presented “The Star Wars Revolution” at the grand opening of the exhibit, titled The Nostalgia Awakens, Wednesday night.
The exhibit features 100 unique action figures with dozens more filling vehicles and playsets. There are also five larger creatures, 19 vehicles and 13 playsets.
“You’re going to hear a lot of, ‘Oh, I had that, I remember that,’ or, ‘I always wanted that,’ or, ‘I didn’t know they made that,’ because a lot of these toys are going to be common ones that they would have seen at stores or at a friend’s house but some of them are going to be less common because they were either made toward the end of Return of the Jedi or maybe they saw a limited release,” Roll said. “It’s going to be a lot of connecting to the past.”
The Star Wars toys on display are from Roll’s personal collection.
In addition to being a Star Wars enthusiast, Roll is a museum curator from Onalaska. He and his brother Kevin owned many of the toys when they were children.
The exhibit will be on display through July 31.
