Nearly a year after a fire forced Stalzy’s Deli on Atwood Avenue to close, the deli is reopening in an online store.

All restaurants and bars were ordered to close in Wisconsin on March 17, so the deli can only open for curbside pickup or delivery.

According to a Facebook post, Stalzy’s is opening Wednesday with bakery, deli and grocery items. Stalzy’s plans to offer daily specials, fish fry and menu items in the future.

“We’d like to send our love out to everyone as we all continue to do our best to navigate these unfamiliar, frightening times,” a Facebook post said. “It’s been a while since we stopped in to update you regarding our progress. Throughout the last week, we have discussed how to pivot, adapt and move forward until we can operate under normal conditions once again.”

The restaurant had a fire April 7 caused by the spontaneous combustion of small kitchen towels.

If interested in ordering from Stalzy’s, you must order and pay online. Employees will deliver the order to your car after you text your information to the restaurant.
