SSM Health working with school districts to give COVID boosters to teachers, vaccines to students

MADISON, Wis. — SSM Health says it is already working with local school districts to provide COVID-19 vaccines to students once the CDC approves the Pfizer vaccine for kids between the ages of 5 and 11.

Once the vaccine is approved for those kids, SSM Health will return to several school districts across Dane and Sauk Counties to provide on-site vaccination clinics for students. The health care provider says they do not have a list of schools yet but will pass along those details as plans become finalized.

SSM Health says they are working with districts to identify school sites that will make the vaccines available to all families, especially those who may otherwise have a hard time finding convenient access to the vaccine.

SSM Health will also be providing COVID-19 booster shots to teachers in those schools who received their original vaccine series from the provider in March. Both Pfizer and Moderna booster doses will be offered. SSM Health says it will start those teacher booster shot clinics in Waunakee.
