SSM Health donates equipment to group focused on Black men’s health

MADISON, Wis. — SSM Health has donated equipment to a nonprofit focused on improving Black men’s health.

On Thursday, Aaron Perry and the Rebalanced-Life Wellness Association dropped by the Fish Hatchery Road clinic to pick up the items, which ranged from exam tables to cabinets and other medical equipment.

The Perry Family Free Clinic, which is set to open on Feb. 24, will allow both uninsured and under-insured Black men to receive a free primary care visit.

“We believe that healthcare is a right and everyone should have access to it, and so we’re really excited that this free clinic is going to reach those men that often have kind of (fallen) off the radar,” Perry said. “We will be pulling them in and helping them get the healthcare that they need.”

Perry said the clinic has identified 700 uninsured and under-insured Black men in the community.
