Squad car damaged during disturbance at Culver’s
Man safely taken into custody after officer uses Taser on him
Two cars, including a squad car, were damaged during a disturbance at the Culver’s restaurant in McFarland on Sunday, according to a release from McFarland police.
Officers were called to the restaurant at 4700 Farwell St. at 3:28 p.m. for a report of a man attacking people in the parking lot and were approached by the man when they arrived.
Police said the 22-year-old developmentally challenged man moved aggressively toward officers with a large landscaping stone over his head and threw it toward the officers and struck the squad car.
An officer used a Taser and the man was safely taken into custody.
Police said the man was with a chaperone and overheard a conversation related to Bret Michaels that seemed to be the trigger for the violence. The man tore down a banner, tipped over a newspaper bin, and attacked and chased patrons in the parking lot, according to officers.
No one was injured. One man’s shirt was torn.
Police said the man was returned to his group home.
