MADISON, Wis. - The CrossFit games will return to Madison next summer, according to a news release.
The 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games is back Aug. 1-5, event organizers said Wednesday.
The five-day competition will bring a festival-like atmosphere to the Alliant Energy Center with more than 72,000 attendees expected, according to a news release.
In the athletic competition, qualifiers compete in workout competitions to test and celebrate fitness.
Organizers said more tickets were sold for the CrossFit Games in Madison last year -- the first time it was held in Wisconsin's capital -- than in any other city in its 10-year history. CrossFit Games leaders estimate the event will bring in nearly $12 million in direct spending to the greater Madison area in 2018.
Information on attending the event is available at games.crossfit.com/liftoff.
