Cameron Hughes named Badger men's hockey captain

Led Wisconsin with 25 assists in 2016-17

MADISON - Cameron Hughes has been named captain for the Badger men's hockey team for the 2017-18 season.

Hughes, a senior from Edmonton, was an alternate captain last season.

He led the Badgers with 25 assists last season and added seven goals including the game-winning overtime score as Wisconsin defeated Ohio State at Madison Square Garden in January.

“It is really exciting. It is (an honor) coming from the coaches and the players,” Hughes said. “It is a role I was in a little bit this year and it will expand for next year.”
