Wisconsin sweeps Loyola Chicago in spring match

MADISON, Wis. - The UW Field House was buzzing once again as the Wisconsin volleyball team hosted their first spring match of the season. UW swept Loyola Chicago 25-16, 25-19, 25-13 in front of a crowd nearly 2,000 Saturday night.

The Badgers hit .376 (41 kills – 9 errors – 85 attempts) behind a match-high 12 kills from freshman Dana Rettke while holding the Ramblers to a .067 (24-18-89) hitting percentage.

Spring ball is all about trying different combinations and giving players match experience after a few months off the court, and today was no different. All 14 of the Badgers saw time on the court, including Molly Haggerty, Danielle Hart and Mariah Whalen, who redshirted the 2017 season.

Wisconsin out blocked LUC 8-3 with Sydney Hilley leading the way with six stuffs and Rettke notching five.

The Badgers also aced the Ramblers 10 times behind a match-high three from Haggerty.

In the backcourt, Tiffany Clark appeared as libero for the first two sets before M.E. Dodge donned the libero jersey for the final frame. Clark led all players with 12 digs and Haggerty added another nine to help the Badgers out dig the Ramblers 39-32.
