Badgers open spring football practice

First of 15 practices Tuesday morning

MADISON - The Wisconsin Badgers football team opened spring practice Tuesday morning at the McClain Indoor Facility.

The Badgers will have 15 spring practices with the annual Spring Game Friday, April 13th at 6 pm at Camp Randall Stadium.

A number of players were listed "Out For Spring" in the first injury report.

Quintez Cephus, Michael Dieter, Jon Dietzen, D'Cota Dixon, Garrett Groshek, Zander Neuville, Bradrick Shaw and Mason Stokke will all sit out the spring with injuries.

Head coach Paul Chryst says "You want to make sure everyone takes advantage of this time... For Jon and Michael, it's getting healthy, and Quintez would be the same. And it opens up more reps for younger guys and I think that's why we as coaches enjoy spring so much because you get a chance to get a lot of work done. And any time those young guys can learn,  you grow from those reps and it's really good for your team."
