SPECIAL PROMOTION: Buzzed into Liberty Park
Verona is home to a new entertainment district
Anchoring the development is the Hyatt Place Madison/Verona, with 136 guest rooms, including extended-stay suites. The location , near Epic Systems headquarters, is a natural for business visitors, says Director of Sales Kim Perez. The hotel features a board room that seats up to 14, plus a meeting room that opens onto a patio courtyard. Customers can also plan a get-together with out-of- town family members or friends, who can enjoy the Hyatt’s accommodations and indoor pool. But you needn’t come from out of town to enjoy the diverse venues at Liberty Park. Restaurants, live music, and other events make it a good place to spend a relaxing day or a fun evening.
The Sugar River Pizza Company is a popular choice for adults a nd families with children. Pizzas are hand-crafted and baked with local ingredients, says owner Sarah Thomas. In addition to pizza, the menu offers a variety of salads, grilled sandwiches, pasta dishes, and lots of options for the kids. Eat outside when the weather permits, on the full, covered patio. “It’s a wonderful place to be,” says Thomas, “and the fire tables are nice in the fall.”
For a change of pace, take a tour and learn how beer is made. Or just sample some of the variety of beers brewed at the Wisconsin Brewing Company. The taproom and picturesque backyard bar draw a crowd for live music on Friday nights.
Those who like wine can visit Fisher King Winery. Stop in for a wine tasting, then take some bottles home. “The majority of the wines,” says wine maker Alwyn Fitzgerald, are produced from locally grown Wisconsin grapes, which yield, “well-made, well-balanced, absolutely delicious wines.”
At The Verona Woods, which opened this year, “We put the ‘casual’ in ‘fine,'” says owner Steve Turner. You can get fine food, prepared by a Culinary Institute of America-trained chef, without having to get dressed up.
In addition to dining and beverages, Liberty Park offers other ways to relax and restore, starting with a workout at GYM 608, where you’ll find a gym with a supportive atmosphere. GYM 608 offers small classes and a holistic approach that emphasizes the mind-body-soul connection.
For pampering, visit Anaala Salon, a cozy salon with a welcoming staff who offer complimentary hand and scalp massages with your hair appointment. Also complimentary: a soothing cup of caffeine-free tea to create the sense that you’re on an island of serenity.
With so many options at Liberty Park, an after-work visit will convince you that it’s possible to get away from it all without having to travel very far.
