Soldiers based in Appleton return to U.S.
Soldiers served country as part of Operation Enduring Freedom
MADISON, Wis. — More than 100 Wisconsin soldiers are back on U.S. soil Thursday night after a deployment to Afghanistan a year ago.
The 395th Ordinance Company based in Appleton, Wis., served the country as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Soldiers were responsible for supplying ammunition to three other bases.
Their support helped nearly 90,000 other service men and women on the front lines.
The homecoming was bittersweet — the company lost one soldier during their deployment.
