Social media lights up after meteor passes through the Midwest

Social media lit up when people saw a meteor pass through the Midwest.

According to viewers, the meteor was visible from Wisconsin between 7 and 7:15 p.m.

The American Meteor Society webpage said its servers were overloaded because of a “major meteor event in Michigan.” The website now shows pending meteor reports.

The meteor registered as a 2.0 magnitude “earthquake” on the United States Geological Survey in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan.
