Smash-and-grab burglars target Apple Store, mall kiosk, police say

A West Towne Mall store and kiosk were both burglarized this weekend in what police believe are related crimes.

Madison police said burglars used rocks early Saturday and again early Sunday to break windows to gain access to the mall.

On Saturday, a burglar who got inside the mall then broke glass at the Apple Store to get inside, taking several cell phones, according to the report.

On Sunday at about 4 a.m., after the burglars broke into the mall, a kiosk business’ safe was smashed open and its contents were stolen, the report said. Police didn’t specify what was inside the safe.

Detectives believe the crimes are likely connected.
