Small Wisconsin counties tackle large amounts of snow
Some of the county’s hardest hit by Tuesday’s snow storm also happened to be places with the least staff able to react.
Richland County plows were out in full force all day on the area’s 500 miles of county backroads, many of them steep and winding. The county has only about 21 crews running routes – a small number when you compare it to other areas, like the city of Madison’s 90-plus crews.
Bill Condon said while his crew is relatively small, they’re mighty.
“We get the job done, get up early in the morning and get with the program,” he said.
