Six people, 2 dogs escape house fire in Beloit
BELOIT, Wis. — Six people were able to escape a house fire in Beloit on Tuesday afternoon.
The City of Beloit Fire Department said they got a call about a fire on the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, the entire north side of the house was on fire.
Because of the heat, crews requested mutual aid from other departments, including the Town of Beloit, South Beloit, Janesville, Town of Turtle, North Park, Harlem-Roscoe, Rockton and Edgerton.
Firefighters were also able to rescue two dogs stuck in the basement.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but no injuries were reported.
A neighboring home was also damaged due to the proximity of the fire.
