Single vehicle crash in Town of Beloit leaves one dead
One person is dead after a single vehicle crash Friday in the Town of Beloit.
The police and fire departments from the Town of Beloit responded to the crash in the 2500 block of South Paddock Road at 12:30 p.m.
The Town of Beloit police department said in a statement that initial investigation shows the vehicle left the road into a ditch on the side of the road and crashed into a concrete culvert. This caused the car to land on its roof. The car also caught fire. Police report that the fire killed the victim.
According to police, witnesses reported seeing the victim pinned inside the car.
Authorities are not releasing the victim’s name. At 10 a.m. Saturday, the Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to try to positively identify the victim.
