Silver Alert canceled after missing Madison man found safe

UPDATE: Jampa Tender Gagyanpontsang has been found safe and the Silver Alert is canceled

MADISON, Wis. — A statewide Silver Alert is being issued for a Madison man who has not been seen since walking away from his home Friday morning.

Jampa Tender Gagyanpontsang is 5’7″ tall and weighs 180 pounds with brown eyes and short black hair. He has some scarring on the right side of his face after recovering from shingles. He is also missing a front tooth.

Authorities say he suffers from dementia and walked away from his home on the southwest side of Madison at 8 a.m. Friday and has not been seen since. He does not drive, but walks very well. He does not speak English.

He was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, a gray shirt, and black slip-on sandals. He may also be wearing a blue vest.
