DANE-Shirley Jiran, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 29, 1936, in Bear Lake, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Fencl. Shirley worked with the Lodi School District as a bus driver for more than 35 years. She was a talented seamstress, repairing upholstery and making clothing for family and friends. Shirley was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her children, Mark (Joyce), Carrie (Michael) Joseph, Melissa (John Wanek) Jiran, Roxanne Ludemann, Bonnie Jiran, and Lonnie (Teresa); her soul mate for 32 years, Richard Lord and his children, Teresa Padrutt, James (Joan) Lord, and Terri (Leroy) Wipperfurth; special niece, Jeanne (Fred) Ott; 30 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine Mertz, Arlene Lane, and Jean Mueller; brother, Don Fencl; and mother, Anna Pierce.
In honor of Shirley’s wishes, a private family gathering was held. Shirley was loved by all who knew her, and will be sorely missed.
