Sharon L. Kumlien, age 76, of Janesville, died on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Feb. 12, 1938, the daughter of James and Violet Ahrens. She married Jack E. Kumlien in 1956, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1995. Sharon had been employed by Gibbs Electronics, Parker Pen, delivered for the Janesville Gazette, owner of Kumlien Trucking, and a seasonal worker for Swiss Colony. She was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton, and a current member of St. William Catholic Church after moving to Janesville. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Parker Pen Retirees. She enjoyed crafting, bird watching, had a special love of pets, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her 2 children, Leah (Ed) Brossard and Jack (Linda) Kumlien both of Janesville; daughter-in-law, Nichole Moir of Sioux Falls, SD; 9 grandchildren: Katie, Tyler, Jamie, Jacklyn, Michael, Terah, Jay, Tracie and Justin; 4 great grandchildren: Draven, Dawson, Peyton and Lillian; and 3 brothers: Jon (Margaret) Ahrens of Edgerton, Jerry (Terry) Ahrens of Janesville and Elmer (Carol) Ahrens of Milton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, James Kumlien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. John Auby officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Milton.
