3 hurt after 2-car crash on Highway 51
DANE COUNTY, Wis. — Three people were injured after a crash on Highway 51 on Friday morning, according to McFarland’s fire chief.
Dispatch confirmed the two-car crash happened at 8:25 a.m. on the highway south of McFarland.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said a 17-year-old woman was driving eastbound on Mahoney Road and failed to stop at the Highway 51 intersection, striking a car traveling south the highway.
Officials said both the driver and passenger of the car driving on the highway were taken by EMS to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 17-year-old was taken by Med Flight to UW Hospital with serious injuries.
All lanes were blocked on Highway 51 in both directions at Mahoney Road, according to the Department of Transportation.
The road was reopened by 11:30 a.m.
