Several in hospital for heat-related symptoms
UW Health treated about 30 patients so far
MADISON, Wis. — Otherwise healthy people are falling victim to the heat.
University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics officials said doctors treated three patients for dizziness, dehydration, nausea and vomiting Friday. One was elderly.
UW Health and Urgent Care Clinics treated a total of 27 patients so far.
Urgent Care officials said patients are complaining of headaches, dizziness and weakness. Many are being treated with IV fluids.
At St. Mary’s Hospital facilities throughout southern Wisconsin, 13 patients were treated for over-heating, brining the total number of patients treated for heat-related symptoms to 81.
