Sen. Johnson visits Ukrainian President in Kyiv
KYIV, Urkraine. — U.S Sen. Ron Johnson met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv for a meeting Friday morning.
Johnson spoke highly about President Zelensky’s dedication in “fulfilling his mandate to defeat corruption.”
“We had an excellent, frank, and supportive meeting with President Zelensky and his team of dedicated reformers,” said Johnson. “While significant challenges remain for Ukraine, much progress has been made in a very short period of time. We leave Ukraine convinced of President Zelensky’s dedication to fulfilling his mandate to defeat corruption and optimistic for the future of Ukraine.”
Sens. Chris Murphy and John Barrasso were also a part of the meeting with President Zelensky.
Johnson will now travel to Munich for the Munich Security Conference.
