Second man arrested in residential burglaries
Dane County authorities investigate rash of daytime burglaries
MADISON, Wis. — Dane County sheriff’s detectives have made a second arrest in connection with the recent rash of daytime residential burglaries.
Devin L. Robinson, 27, of Belleville, was taken into custody Wednesday morning, according to a Dane County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Detectives have evidence connecting Robinson to several burglaries in the Town of Montrose as well as one in the Village of Oregon, said Elise Schaffer, spokeswoman for the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s officials said Robinson may be connected to additional burglaries after detectives sort through stolen property recovered from two search warrants conducted Wednesday as part of this investigation.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is working in conjunction with Oregon and Belleville police departments.
Schaffer said the arrest of Robinson and last week’s arrest of another suspect, Kunga Chokden, will no doubt make a significant impact in reducing the daytime burglaries that have had so many Dane County residents on edge.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said it continues to ask citizens to be mindful to keep doors and windows locked and to report any and all suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agency immediately.
