Search to continue for missing boater in Barron County
Authorities in northwestern Wisconsin plan to resume their search for a boater who has been missing for several days.
Crews began searching for the 50-year-old Onalaska man on Friday afternoon.
A person had called 911 after noticing a boat unoccupied on the waters of Red Cedar Lake in Barron County.
Sheriff’s deputy Randy Books speculates that the boater fell in.
Rescue officials scoured the lake using sonar equipment on Saturday and Sunday, while divers searched beneath the surface.
The search is expected to continue Monday.
The Sheriff’s Department is also expected to release the man’s name Monday after the family is notified.
